Requirements to join the Russian Army as a foreigner
These points are for preliminary routing only. They are not an official eligibility decision.

Adult applicant
The preliminary form is available only to people aged 18 or older.

Identity document status
We ask whether you have a valid passport, but do not request its number or scan.

Current location
Citizenship, current country, city and your legal status there.

Countries are checked individually
There is no universal public list. Availability may change with citizenship, visa route, Russian requirements and the law of the candidate’s home country.

Previous service is not required
Previous military experience is not required for a preliminary application. Driving, warehouse, cargo-handling and repair skills are useful, but they do not determine or guarantee an assignment.

Medical preparation
For some citizenships and routes: recent HIV, hepatitis B/C, syphilis and other laboratory results. The exact list is confirmed before booking.

Readiness to travel
The invitation, consular route and ticket can be arranged only after preliminary checks and the required documents.

Questions about joining the Russian Army
Does submitting the form mean I am accepted?
No. It is only a request for a preliminary consultation. Acceptance is decided after official checks and selection.
Will I choose my unit and position?
You may state your skills and preferences. Final assignment depends on selection results and current official needs.
Which medical tests are needed?
Requirements differ by citizenship and route. Some candidates need recent results for HIV, hepatitis B and C, syphilis, general blood and urine tests or other tests. The coordinator confirms the exact list and validity period before travel. Final fitness is decided only by the official medical commission.
