Requirements to join the Russian Army as a foreigner
These details are only for initial guidance. They do not decide whether a candidate is officially eligible.

Adult applicant
The preliminary form is available only to people aged 18 or older.

Identity document status
A valid international passport is required. Without it, you cannot travel to Russia to sign the contract. If you do not have one or it is expired, obtain a valid passport before applying. The preliminary form does not collect its number or copy; after submission, a clear copy can be sent in a private WhatsApp chat.

Current location
Citizenship, current country, city and your legal status there.

Countries are checked individually
There is no universal public list. Availability is reviewed using citizenship, current location, passport status, document route and readiness to travel.

Previous service is not required
Previous military experience is not required for a preliminary application. Driving, warehouse, cargo-handling and repair skills are useful, but they do not determine or guarantee an assignment.

Medical preparation
For some citizenships and routes: recent HIV, hepatitis B/C, syphilis and other laboratory results. The exact list is confirmed before booking.

Readiness to travel
The invitation, consular route and ticket can be arranged only after preliminary checks and the required documents.
GUIDANCE FOR AFRICA AND ASIA
Requirements for applicants from the Philippines, Brunei, Africa and Asia
Applicants from the Philippines, Brunei, Bhutan, Myanmar, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Mauritius, South Africa, Uganda and Kenya should enter citizenship, current country and current city separately. Passport status, contact details, language ability and readiness to travel are checked individually.
Philippines
If you are a citizen of the Philippines, state your citizenship and current country and city separately. Confirm passport validity, English ability, a personal WhatsApp or Telegram number and when you could travel.
Brunei
If you are a citizen of Brunei, enter Brunei as your citizenship and state your current country and city separately. Confirm passport validity, English ability, your personal contact number and your approximate travel timeframe.
Zimbabwe
If you are a citizen of Zimbabwe, state Zimbabwe as your citizenship and give your current country and city separately. You need a valid international passport, a personal contact number and an approximate travel timeframe.
Botswana
Citizens of Botswana may currently enter Russia without a visa for up to 30 days. Enter Botswana as your citizenship and give your current country and city separately. Confirm passport validity, your English ability, a personal WhatsApp or Telegram number and when you could travel.
Mauritius
Citizens of Mauritius may currently enter Russia without a visa for up to 60 days. Enter Mauritius as your citizenship, confirm your current country and city, passport validity, whether you speak English or French, your personal contact number and when you could travel. The applicable entry and processing route is confirmed before travel.
Bhutan
If you are a citizen of Bhutan, enter Bhutan as your citizenship and state where you are now. Confirm that your international passport is valid, whether you speak English, your personal WhatsApp or Telegram number and when you could travel.
Myanmar
If you are a citizen of Myanmar, give your current country and city separately from citizenship. Use your own contact number and confirm passport status, English ability and your approximate travel timeframe.
South Africa, Uganda and Kenya
Confirm your citizenship, current location, passport validity and the period when you could be ready to travel. Use a phone or WhatsApp number that you control personally.

Questions about joining the Russian Army
Does submitting the form mean I am accepted?
No. It is only a request for a preliminary consultation. Acceptance is decided after official checks and selection.
Will I choose my unit and position?
You may state your skills and preferences. Final assignment depends on selection results and current official needs.
Which medical tests are needed?
Requirements differ by citizenship and route. Some candidates need recent results for HIV, hepatitis B and C, syphilis, general blood and urine tests or other tests. The coordinator confirms the exact list and validity period before travel. Final fitness is decided only by the official medical commission.
